Questions for Moms- Danger Sign of Pregnancy-Missed a Period on the Pill: Could Pregnancy Hurt Your Baby?

Have you missed a period while on the pill? Have you seen other signs of pregnancy such as nausea or breast tenderness? Are you worried that you could be with child and being on the contraceptive could hurt your baby?

Many couples nowadays use some form of contraception, whether it is natural, like the rhythm method, or involves female hormones, such as the injection. Using these methods allows men and women to better plan and prepare for their children. However each of them comes with drawbacks.

Busy, stressed adults who choose to use the pill must remember to take it every day. If a woman forgets to do this for a day or two, there is a chance that she could become pregnant. If this happens to you, could it harm your little one?

According to the Mayo Clinic, if you become pregnant while on this form of birth control, there is a slightly higher chance that you could develop an ectopic pregnancy. If you miss a tablet, you should always consult your doctor immediately. If you have missed one and think there is a chance that you might be carrying a baby, you should also contact your doctor immediately. You should also stop taking the pill and switch to another contraceptive method if you feel you are pregnant.
